Direct Sales Representative - Chicago area
This Sales Representative (full or part time) will be responsible for establishing new accounts and servicing existing accounts regularly. Duties will include forming, maintaining and managing accounts as well as working with established distributors. The Sales Representative will build strong, honest relationships with our clients, increase sales and promote Illinois River wines. This position includes some evening and weekend hours as needed to meet the schedules of all clients and to coordinate training and wine dinners, as well as to conduct in-store wine tastings. You will be trained on your market and out wine portfolio before entering the field. We provide our sales team with all of the tools required to succeed, including price sheets, technical sheets, promotional materials and shelf talkers).
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Acquire and demonstrate wine knowledge and effectively present products to accounts
- Promote brands; manage growth of accounts and expansion of business to meet goals
- Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in all actions, working always within legal, moral and ethical boundaries
- All other duties as required
Other Qualifications
- Previous sales experience with recorded results
- Strong sales skills to include impeccable follow-up skills
- High standard of ethics. Excellent professional reputation.
- Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
- Ability to lift full cases ~ 35 lbs.
- Be computer savvy, have daily internet access, ability to work with word and excel documents
- Must have a current driver’s license, good driving record ad reliable transportation
- Must be a result-oriented person
- Creates good working relationships with internal employees
- Cultivates strong supplier relationships
- Is resourceful—thinks of new and unique ideas and ways to succeed, is creative in marshalling resources, materials, etc.
- Exhibits strong follow through on commitments and is accountable
- Communicates effectively and frequently
This is a commission-based position with a small base salary. We also offer an expense allowance for travel. We may entertain a salaried position at a later date based upon case sales objectives being met.
